We are a busy, vibrant city centre cafe looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team on a full-time basis.In this role, you will maintain kitchen cleanliness and assist our chefs with basic food preparation. Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred, but a positive attitude and a strong work ethic are most important.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashers to clean crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
• Wash large pots, pans, and cooking utensils by hand.
• Maintain hygiene standards by deep cleaning floors, counters, and walls.
• Manage waste disposal by emptying bins and recycling regularly.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks
• Unpack food deliveries and store stock safely in the storeroom.
• Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential.
• Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with the team.
• Strong stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Excellent teamwork skills to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for weekends and daytime shift patterns , the roster is fixed and the shift pattern is Wednesday - Sunday.
• Right to work in Ireland is mandatory.
