The 5* Glenlo Abbey Hotel, Galway (part of the MHL Hotel Collection) is currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter.

Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate is located on the banks of Lough Corrib on a 138-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740's. The Hotel comprises of 74 bedrooms including 6 suites, 11 Luxury Self-Catering Lodges, Corrib Room (catering for meetings, events, and weddings for up to 170 guests), River Room Restaurant, Palmers Bar and Kitchen, 2AA Rosette Pullman Restaurant (set aboard original Dining Carriages from the Orient Express), Glo Spa & Wellness, a 9 Hole Christy O'Connor Jr designed Championship Golf course and a 21 bay driving range.

Main Purpose of the Job: To assist Management to ensure that our Kitchen and back of house areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and that food is handled and stored in a hygienic manner in line with Company procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent back-up service to the Kitchen team in order to ensure that customer’s orders are served in a timely manner.
• Ensure that the kitchen area is constantly maintained to a high level of cleanliness at all times.
• Ensure that all storage areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure that all food processing equipment is cleaned thoroughly as required.
• Adhere to all cleaning schedules and complete all paperwork associated with the recording of all cleaning.
• Adhere to all principles of Food Hygiene and HACCP.
• Cleaning of all staff areas including locker rooms, toilets and staff dining area as required.
• Ensure that a complete handover is done with the on-coming shift and that any checklists, reports and tasks have been completed.

Shift work & flexibility are required in this position.
