We are on the lookout for a food-loving kitchen all-rounder.

The role is for a new member of our kitchen crew in Hatch Blackrock where we have a micro-kitchen creating sweet treats for both stores, as well as a small vegetarian all day brunch menu for Blackrock. We are after somebody who is eager to learn our style of service ( all-day veggie brunch dishes ; simple but delicious) , maintains excellent hygiene standards, flexible in what tasks they are given in our kitchen, happy to learn on the job in order to progress within our team, has good communication and is excited to be in a tight-knit award winning team! Of course coffee is provided to aid all of this! The kitchen operates until 3pm everyday so it's a lovely short day, one of the many hatch perks!

We are not after somebody super technical or niche in what they want to do , we are a fun-loving team who are after the right person with an open-mind to getting involved in our mission of great vibes, great coffee and the perfect small dishes to accompany to all that good stuff. Training will be provided to the right candidate so don't hesitate to apply if you're not super-qualified or experienced. This is a full-time role so we will invest in the right person with the right attitude, who is passionate about joining our kitchen crew.

We'll be reaching out to applicants to have an in-person chat and a coffee with us and we can discuss the nitty-gritty details of the everyday tasks and talk you through our 'kitchen day' in that chat. We are on the lookout for a full-time day time pastry chef in our Hatch Blackrock kitchen!

Ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented person responsible for baking sweet treats with our hatch recipes for our two shops. Creativity is encouraged as we pump out seasonal specials , collaboration is key! Our kitchen closes everyday at 3pm so it's a breezy day-shift and you're generally out by 4pm if you're on the closing shift.

Duties include assisting the head chef and sous chef in monitoring kitchen activities, organising daily prep tasks, expediting orders to ensure quality taste or presentation and taking on additional responsibilities according to the daily task lists in the kitchen.

Pastry Chef duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparing food to meet the specifications of daily operations in a timely manner
  • Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
  • Professional presentation of pastries and baked goods.
  • Understand baking concepts and the following of recipes
  • Plan of daily pastry production
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Safety and cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Adhering to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
  • Proper use of all of our kitchen equipment.
  • Managing the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
  • Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
  • Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organised and sanitised.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €13.75-€14.75 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
