Job Summary

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laundry Worker to support hospital operations by maintaining a consistent supply of clean linens, gowns, towels, and other laundry items. The ideal candidate understands the importance of cleanliness, infection prevention, and proper handling of soiled materials in a healthcare environment. This role helps ensure that clinical departments have the clean textiles needed to support patient care and daily hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and transport soiled hospital linens according to established procedures.
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment after appropriate training.
• Wash, dry, fold, and organize linens according to hospital standards.
• Separate clean and soiled items to prevent cross-contamination.
• Inspect linens for stains, damage, or items requiring additional processing.
• Distribute clean laundry to designated hospital departments.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and appropriate personal protective equipment requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized laundry work areas.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report equipment problems or shortages to supervisors.
• Follow workplace safety procedures when handling laundry carts, cleaning products, and machinery.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently while meeting department cleanliness and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous laundry, housekeeping, custodial, or hospital support experience is an advantage.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move laundry carts as required by the position.
• Willingness to follow hospital infection control and workplace safety policies.
• Availability for assigned shifts, including weekends or holidays when required.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
