Our North Island business division is on the lookout for a motivated individual to lead a dynamic team of container devanners and warehouse staff in a fast-paced, growing industry!

The Role

As the Leading Hand, you'll be at the forefront of our warehousing and yard operations, ensuring we consistently deliver top-notch service to our customers. This hands-on role requires practical experience with forklifts and material handling equipment. Your commitment to health and safety will be crucial, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to take ownership and drive improvements forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Team: Inspire and guide the operational performance and behaviour of all 3PL team members.
• Champion Safety: Ensure all H&S policies and SOPs are followed, leading safety initiatives with regular talks and daily toolbox/coordination meetings.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain adherence to warehousing and devanning duties, especially around technology requirements.
• Equipment Management: Ensure appropriate machinery and equipment are available and operated safely.

Skills & Personal Attributes

• Hands-On Experience: Practical experience operating forklifts, devanning/unpacking containers, and working in a warehouse environment.
• Safety Advocate: A champion for health and safety.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to influence, motivate, and coach others.
• Pressure Handling: Ability to work under pressure with multiple and competing deadlines.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable with computers and technology.
