Introduction:
All Saints' Catholic College, Maitland is seeking 3 x temporary part-time Learning Support Assistants to join the team from term 2 to until the end of the year.

2 x 28hrs per week

1 x 17hrs per week

All Saints’ College, Maitland is a coeducational Catholic secondary school for Years 7–12, operating within the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese. With approximately 1,250 students and over 190 staff across two campuses, it is the largest school in the Diocese and one of the largest Catholic schools in New South Wales. Years 7–10 are located on the Junior Campus, while Years 11 and 12 are located on the nearby Senior Campus.

Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION

Learning Support Assistants (LSA) in a Catholic school have a unique role to play and are assigned with the task of supporting teachers in ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live a purposeful life.

  • Supported by the Catholic community, of which they are a vital part, LSAs support teachers in inviting students and their families into a faith-filled educational experience
  • LSAs support the promotion of the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured and students are connected with their world through deep learning and engagement
  • Under the direction of teachers, LSAs provide support and assistance in school routines; classroom activities; and the care and support of students with disability.
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Experience working with students with disability (K-12)
  • Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of a teacher, and in collaboration with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively administer assessments, and deliver interventions, under the direction of a teacher
  • Demonstrated ability to implement adjustments required for individual students and groups of students
  • Experience in supporting student enrolment and transitions, under the direction of a teacher
  • Knowledge about the relevant Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data
  • Evidence of excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training
  • Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support / or experience in schools (Desirable)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
