Te Wananga Toi Tangata Division of Education invites applications for this exciting opportunity to lead our Master of Disability and Inclusion Studies and contribute to shaping social change in disability and inclusion through research and teaching across the breadth of our education programmes.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring professional and academic experience to be part of a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision and maintain and develop original scholarship and research, as well as undertake professional/community/iwi service activities relevant to disability and inclusion.
Along with teaching, your well-defined programme of research will help to advance research capacities, develop strategic cross and inter-disciplinary research initiatives and engage with the community. Those seeking an appointment at the Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level will have a record of academic leadership that includes mentorship, guidance, encouragement, and support for other academic staff in the pursuit of their academic objectives and the development of their professional careers.
The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate's relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The salary will be in the range of Lecturer from $87,500 to $104,322, Senior Lecturer from $107,177 to $140,599, or Associate Professor from $142,358 to $157,018 per year. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hamilton campus.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD, or if applying at Lecturer level could be in the final stages of completion. You will bring a passion for, and expertise, in disability and inclusion studies and be able to demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of how your research could enhance professional practice and community.
If you are seeking a senior appointment (Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor), you will be expected to have a research and scholarship record of excellence at a national and international level, along with demonstrated excellence in teaching and successful postgraduate supervision experience in the broad discipline of Human Development.
