Remuneration: $106,025 – $117,363 plus Superannuation and Leave Loading

Your impact as a Legal Advisor – Transparency & Integrity

Join NSW Treasury’s award-winning Office of General Counsel (OGC), supporting governance, transparency and integrity across the organisation. As a Legal Advisor, you’ll provide independent legal and governance advice and services across information access, privacy, complaints, public interest disclosures, and administrative law.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Managing requests under GIPA and Standing Order 52
  • Providing legal advice and drafting documents including contracts, agreements, and submissions
  • Supporting investigations and responses to ICAC, NSW Ombudsman and other regulatory bodies
  • Advising on privacy, complaints, and governance matters
  • Collaborating across Treasury to promote ethical conduct and compliance
  • Contributing to system and process improvements that enhance transparency and accountability

What we’re looking for

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and a current practising certificate
  • Experience in government and/or governance advisory roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy
  • Exposure to at least two of the following: GIPA, SO52, PID, privacy, administrative law, investigations or complaints handling
  • Ability to work autonomously and make justifiable decisions
