Role Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM); Tuesday and Thursday (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Job Overview
Upper Thornhill Dental Care is a family-friendly, patient-centered, modern dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and energetic Level II Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during a wide range of clinical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and a variety of clinical procedures.
- Prepare, organize, and set up trays, instruments, and materials prior to procedures.
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with HARP regulations.
- Provide chairside support including suctioning, passing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain clinical operatory cleanliness according to infection control and IPAC standards.
- Document patient care in the practice management system accurately and promptly.
- Assist with impressions, whitening procedures, and other Level II duties as permitted.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and report stock needs to the clinical lead or dentist.
- Support a smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the day by collaborating closely with the dental team.
Qualifications
- NDAEB-Certified Level II Dental Assistant (required).
- HARP Certification (required).
- Knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and dental instruments/equipment.
- Experience with orthodontics or pediatric dentistry is an asset.
- Familiarity with dental software such as LiveDDM, Dentrix, Tracker, Abeldent, or Paradigm is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality care.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for patient-centered care.
