About the role:
This role is responsible for managing the timely receipt, sorting, distribution, and delivery of mail and packages while ensuring all shipping, labeling, and documentation processes meet company standards. The position also supports daily mail operations by operating company vehicles, handling deliveries, maintaining records, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
In this role you will:
- Receive, sort, log and distribute all incoming (1st class, priority, certified, express, etc.) and interoffice mail and parcels according to established time frames and service standards
- Operate a Company vehicle to complete mail pick-up and delivery runs to Post Office, UPS, FedEx and other company locations as needed
- Deliver mail to GMF departments according to established deadlines and service standards
- Ensure that all outgoing mail and packages are properly labeled for mailing and shipping with correct postage, etc., utilizing folder/inserter machine, automatic postage meter machines and shipping systems
- Maintain all logs and reporting documentation as required
- Demonstrate flexibility in discussing, clarifying and satisfying customer demands in a high volume, production environment
- Know, understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures at all times
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries to and from the mailrooms and loading dock locations

Knowledge and Skills
- Administrative and clerical procedures and systems
- Basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)
- Customer service strategies and techniques (e.g., handling customer complaints, follow-up and confirmation for customer satisfaction)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, and Project
- Basic knowledge of general office procedures
- Operating knowledge of office equipment (e.g., printers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of GM Financial operations, policies, staff, and procedures
- Thorough understanding of corporate secretarial and general office procedures
- Knowledge of proper machine operation related to a variety of mailroom equipment (folder/inserter, postage machines, shipping system, incoming tracking system, etc.)Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Handling confidential matters and information
- Operating basic office equipment (e.g., fax, copier, phone, etc.)
- Using basic software applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)
- Accurate typing, 10-key and word processing skills
- Ability to type 60 WPM
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to make independent decisions, solve problems, and exercise discretion relating to the performance of day-to-day duties
- Ability to make routine arithmetic computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy
- Ability to speak effectively with customers, vendors or employees in person, over the phone or with Teams system
- Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Knowledge and Skills
Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:
- Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
- Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
- Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
- Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
Education & Working Conditions
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Various types of office environments and shipping, receiving and mail handling areas Medium to high noise level commensurate with postage equipment and related mailroom machinery
