Maintenance

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Team Member to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring our property is well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for our guests and staff. Key Responsibilities

• General Maintenance and Repairs
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
• Fix and replace broken fixtures, furniture, or appliances in guest rooms and communal areas.
• Carry out minor painting and decorating projects.
• Guest Room Support
• Address maintenance issues reported by guests or housekeeping, ensuring swift resolution.
• Inspect rooms regularly to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Preventative Maintenance
• Conduct regular property checks to identify potential issues before they arise.
• Test equipment, including HVAC systems, water heaters, and lighting, for optimal performance.
• Safety and Compliance
• Ensure all safety equipment, such as smoke alarms, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers, is in working order.
• Repair or report any safety hazards, including loose railings, flooring, or electrical faults.
• Outdoor and Grounds Maintenance
• Maintain the exterior of the property, including cleaning gutters, power washing patios, and repairing outdoor fixtures.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as clearing snow, de-icing pathways, or preparing gardens.
• Emergency Response
• Be available to address urgent issues, such as burst pipes, power outages, or lock failures.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs when necessary.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide support during renovations or upgrades.
• Record-Keeping
• Maintain logs of completed tasks and scheduled maintenance checks.
• Order and manage stock of tools, equipment, and repair materials.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Previous experience in a maintenance role or similar field.
• Practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Desirable:

• Relevant qualifications in plumbing, electrical work, or general maintenance.
• Experience in hospitality or property maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
