We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker to keep our facilities tidy and functional by assuming responsibility for general repairs and upkeep.

Requirements:

· Trade ticket preferred but not necessary in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or other relevant fields.

· General working knowledge of plumbing, heating, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.

· Proficient with the use of hand and power tools. Work on a ladder. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.

· Must have a valid class 5 driver's license.

· Have dependable transportation. Truck or van would be an asset.

· Maintain professional development with mandatory training including but not limited to WHIMIS, Confined Spaces, First Aid, OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) and CCHSS (Continuing Care Health Service Standards).

· Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

· Positive, pleasant, willing, and courteous attitude.

· Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.

· Comfortable working in and around congregated living facilities, working with seniors and families.

· Comfortable contacting and working alongside outside contractor services when needed.

· Knowledge of security and fire safety systems considered an asset.

· Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician or a successful candidate that possesses the proficiency of being handy at general maintenance and repairs who is looking to make a difference in the community while building positive relationships between our residents, their families, and employees. This position is full-time with on-call responsibilities. You will be a part of the team that maintains the buildings, property, and assets in and around Pioneer Lodge and House, with occasional work at Lloydminster Region Housing Group properties in Lloydminster, Marwayne and Kitscoty.

Main Duties: Maintenance

· Annual service of heating, cooling, and mechanical equipment.

· Adequate management and upkeep of organization’s property and assets.

· Ensure preventative maintenance work is performed in accordance with program and policy - mechanical rooms, crawl spaces and rooftop units.

· Inspect vacant units weekly.

· Perform repairs to vacant rooms during tenant handovers (drywall, painting, flooring, fixture repair or replacement).

· Perform duties ensuring the safety and security of tenants and staff.

· Perform repairs immediately to minimize damage, or if necessary, contact/hire outside contractor if unable to contact Maintenance Director or Director of Operations.

· Ensure eavestroughs and downpipes/spouts are cleaned in fall and spring.

· Repairs to exterior building shell and extensions (soffits, shingles, facia, siding, fences, storage buildings, etc.)

· Notify Director of Maintenance of any repairs or work required outside scope of ability.

· Maintenance and general repairs of common areas within Pioneer Lodge and House.

· Emergency on-call every two weeks or when needed.

· Be an active member of the OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) committee.

· Assists with emergency fire drills and training.

· Provide mentorship of summer students or volunteers.

· Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in safe and operational order.

· Adequate management and upkeep of organization’s property and assets.

· Seasonally assist/organize removal of snow and ice from walkways and parking lots.

· Maintenance of exterior buildings outside and around Pioneer Lodge and House.

· Maintain an appealing streetscape.

· Ensure that parking lots and lawns are clear of litter and debris.

· Ensure all exit doors and walkways are free from obstructions (both inside and out).

· Completing annual inspections of the properties in conjunction with the Director of Maintenance.
