Tioga County currently has a full-time with benefits vacancy for a Maintenance Worker 1. The position involves performing routine maintenance on all County owned facilities, buildings, bridges, equipment and grounds.

Essential Functions:

§ Executes daily maintenance duties under supervision of Maintenance 2 and the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Director.

§ Must have general knowledge of facility systems including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, general construction and equipment repair.

§ Able to demonstrate proper operation of machinery and tools associated with performing various maintenance duties, including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, pickup truck, dump truck, tractors, and snow plowing equipment.

§ Assist in interpreting drawings, schematics, equipment manuals and prints.

§ Assist in diagnosing equipment problems.

§ Work well with other maintenance staff and outside contractors.

§ Must have knowledge of Safe Work Practices as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

§ Able to be on call weeknights and weekends when scheduled.

§ Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Other Requirements:

§ High School Diploma or GED

§ Valid driver’s license

§ 2 years of experience in the maintenance field

§ PA State Child Abuse, PSP Criminal History and FBI Fingerprint Clearances.

Hours of work will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Wage rate for this position is $17.50 per hour.
