About the Role
Come join Swinburne Research in an exciting leadership role that shapes the future of health and medical research funding. As Manager, Research Grants, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of NHMRC and MRFF grants, guiding researchers through complex funding landscapes and ensuring seamless pre- and post-award administration.

In this dynamic position, you’ll collaborate across teams, drive process improvements, and support strategic initiatives that enhance research outcomes. This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing team, influence national research agendas, and contribute to Swinburne’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing, advising on and assisting in the development of research funding applications, preferably for NHMRC and/or MRFF funding opportunities and Category One grants.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality advice on post-award grant issues, including the interpretation and review of complex documentation such as funding guidelines and agreements, and the accurate interpretation and application of policies, procedures and guidelines, preferably for NHMRC and/or MRFF grant awards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft correspondence, reports, guidelines and information guides, and convey complex information or strategic advice to a high level of clarity.
  • An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including external funding bodies, researchers and research leadership.
  • High level of competency in the use of standard office packages. Expertise in record maintenance and database management including the ability to develop meaningful reports and articulate new database requirements.

Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
