About Us:
Flex Funding is a new Canadian merchant cash advance (MCA) company with bold ambitions. We're launching a modern, fast-moving funding platform—and we're looking for a hands-on leader who can help build it from the ground up.

The Opportunity:
As Managing Director, you’ll play a critical role in launching, leading, and scaling the entire operation. You’ll oversee underwriting, sales, credit, and funding, while building the systems, processes, and team that drive the business. You’ll also report directly to the investor committee and work closely with the founding team to execute the company’s vision.

This is a unique opportunity to take an ownership-style leadership role in a startup with major upside potential, including long-term equity or profit-sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage the day-to-day operations across underwriting, sales, credit, and funding
• Design and implement internal systems, workflows, and reporting tools
• Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team across all core functions
• Create and maintain underwriting policies and risk management frameworks
• Monitor deal flow and ensure timely funding and service delivery
• Report directly to the investor committee and provide performance updates
• Ensure all processes comply with Canadian regulations and best practices

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive experience in merchant cash advance or alternative small business financing
• Strong leadership background in underwriting, sales, credit, or funding operations
• Track record of building and scaling high-growth teams or startups
• Strategic thinker who can also execute on details and systems
• Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in ambiguity and early-stage environments
• Canadian experience or deep understanding of the local lending landscape
