We are seeking a Marketing & Business Development Manager to support our growth initiatives at the intersection of market research, marketing, and sales. While our offices are in Toronto, Ottawa and Minneapolis, this position will be based out of our downtown Toronto office. We currently have an established hybrid work model.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual with 4–7 years of quantitative market research experience who is eager to expand into a commercial and strategic business role.

You’ll work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to help strengthen Phase 5’s market presence, generate qualified leads, and convert opportunities into successful client relationships. You’ll apply your research expertise to understand client needs, develop compelling marketing messages, and support business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development Support

  • Partner with the CMO to identify and qualify potential leads and target accounts.
  • Assist in proposal writing, RFP responses, and client presentations.
  • Maintain and enhance the client database to ensure accurate tracking of opportunities.
  • Leverage your background in research to bring consultative insights to marketing and business conversations.

Marketing and Brand Growth

  • Support the execution of the company’s marketing plan across digital, content, and event channels.
  • Support the creation of compelling marketing content (blog posts, case studies, white papers, etc.).
  • In partnership with our agency, manage and optimize marketing campaigns in our marketing automation platform (HubSpot).
  • Track and report on marketing KPIs, lead flow, and campaign effectiveness.

Collaboration and Internal Enablement

  • Work closely with the firm’s research teams (Brand, Innovation, CX and UX) to align marketing efforts with the firm’s value proposition and client and market needs.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge-sharing initiatives within Phase 5.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4-7 years of experience in market research, ideally quantitative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Interest in sales, business development, and marketing strategy.
  • Strategic mindset.

Preferred:

  • Experience engaging directly with clients or supporting business development.
  • Exposure to marketing and proposal development.
  • Comfort working with CRM and marketing automation platforms (HubSpot).

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
