Job Title: Material Specialist

As a Material Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials throughout our operations. Your expertise will be essential in managing procurement processes, optimizing inventory levels, and enhancing supplier relationships. You’ll be at the heart of our supply chain management, driving efficiency and effectiveness in materials management while supporting our manufacturing and production planning efforts.

What you’ll do

• Oversee procurement activities to ensure timely acquisition of materials and supplies.
• Manage inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
• Utilize ERP systems, including SAP and Oracle EBS, to track materials and streamline operations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and improve supplier performance.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate logistics and warehouse activities to ensure smooth material flow.
• Support demand planning initiatives by analyzing material requirements for production schedules.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory and materials management processes to identify areas for improvement.

Basic qualifications

• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
• Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
• Proficiency in purchasing and supplier management practices.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques.
• Background in logistics or warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of production planning methodologies.
