Are you an experienced Medical Assistant looking to make a difference in a dynamic and caring environment? Gastro-MD, a leading Gastroenterology office in Tampa, FL, is seeking 2 dedicated Full-Time Medical Assistants to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm the purpose of visits.
- Pre-Examination Prep: Perform preliminary physical tests, including blood pressure, weight, and temperature checks.
- Assist with Procedures: Support office procedures and ensure patient comfort.
- Confidentiality: Secure patient information and maintain medical records with utmost confidentiality.
- Patient Counseling: Communicate physician’s orders and address patient questions about surgery.
- Chart Preparation: Prepare charts for upcoming appointments.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and legal regulations.
- Inventory Management: Keep supplies ready by managing inventory and placing orders.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is operational by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting issues.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Professional Standards: Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures, and comply with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Practice Enhancement: Enhance the practice’s reputation by taking ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Certification is preferred but not a must.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in the medical field is required.
- Clinical Competency: Demonstrated competency in acute patient care.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation.
Additional Skills:
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills.
- Communication: Effective communication skills.
