Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and office procedures.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
  • Manage phone systems, answering calls promptly and professionally while addressing patient inquiries.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain the calendar for healthcare providers efficiently.
  • Collect patient information, including insurance details and medical history, ensuring accuracy in records.
  • Process medical collections and handle billing inquiries as needed.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems for patient management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring that all materials are stocked and accessible.
  • Assist with clerical duties including filing, data entry, and correspondence as required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical coding to support billing processes when necessary.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with phone etiquette and professional communication standards.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective interaction with patients and staff.
  • Experience with medical collection practices is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and software relevant to the role.
