About You
Are you passionate about using your lived or living experience of mental health or addiction to support others on their recovery journey? Do you want to be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred mental health care? We're looking for a compassionate, team-oriented Mental Health Worker Lived / Living Experience (LLE) to join us at Barwon PARC, in partnership with Barwon Health, where you'll play a vital role in supporting participants with complex mental health needs.

We're looking for someone who brings:
Lived or living experience of mental health challenges or addiction, with the ability to use this experience meaningfully in a lived / living experience support role. (Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Intentional Peer Support Training highly desirable).
Previous experience working in mental health or supporting people facing social disadvantage in the community.
Confidence in facilitating group activities, co-creating recovery goals, and contributing to support planning.
An understanding of intake and exit planning processes (desirable).
Strong personal qualities such as emotional resilience, flexibility, initiative, and patience.
A commitment to advocating for others and helping build meaningful, sustainable support networks.

It is a requirement of this position to meet all compliance requirements concerning NDIS Work Screening, Working With Children's Check, work rights, possess a current & valid driver’s licence and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with willingness to maintain yearly influenza vaccination for the duration of your employment.

About the Role
Work in collaboration with our team of highly skilled Mental Health Workers and Clinical Multidisciplinary Team, including Psychiatrists, a Psychologist, Social Worker and Nurses.
In this role, you’ll draw on your own experiences to build genuine relationships, instil hope, and walk alongside participants as they work toward their recovery goals. You’ll collaborate with Barwon Health nursing staff and other professionals to deliver holistic, psychosocial recovery support in a short-term residential setting. We pride ourselves on a personalised approach and delivering individualised recovery orientated care. Our goal is to enable rather than do, to promote independence, development and confidence of individuals. Our success will enable them to have the voice and choice to thrive in their local communities.

The role entails:
Facilitate groups with evidence-based group content that is curated to the cohort of the ever-changing participant group
Develop evidence-based care plans that are strengths-based with a holistic wellness focus
Develop collaborative risk management and mitigation plans
Enhance and promote links with sustainable supports within the community
Provide accurate and timely case notes ensuring colleagues and stakeholders can provide a consistent experience for clients
Develop recovery goals and implement steps to achieve set goals
Work collaboratively with Barwon Health clinicians to deliver a wellbeing program that meets the recovery needs of people who utilise PARC.

This is a part time position, Monday and Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm and Wednesday and Thursday 12:00pm – 8:00pm. Contract to November 2026.

We take appropriate actions to ensure that our staff and the people we support are as safe as possible. You will be expected to adhere to all OHS standards, requirements and processes, including (but not limited to) wearing appropriate PPE and regular hygiene and cleanliness practices.
