Job Summary
Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager you will use your experience and technical expertise to lead our Mine Rescue program and support the H&S department. The schedule for this position is 5/2. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Requirements & Skills
· Post secondary education from a recognized institution in OH&S or equivalent combination of experience and education
· 5 years public or industrial experience in Emergency Response (Firefighter/ Paramedic) or Health & Safety role;
· 3 years of experience working in underground mining;
· 3 years training instructor experience in Mine Rescue, NFPA courses, Advanced First Aid
· Knowledge of provincial safety regulations and best practices
· Advance oral and written skills
· Intermediate computer skills (Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint)
Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and participate in underground mine rescue and emergency response teams
· Facilitate safety training, including mine rescue simulations and emergency drills
· Coordinate and implement site safety programs, policies and procedures
· Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and audits
· Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
· Maintain compliance with provincial and federal OHS regulations
· Act as a safety resource for supervisors, employers, and contractors
· Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and culture
· Other duties as required
· This is a site‑based role operating on a 40‑hour work week, with either a 4‑days‑on / 3‑days‑off
or 5‑days‑on / 2‑days‑off schedule.
