OPERATIONS MANAGER
Responsibilities
Operations and Systems
- Upkeep and establish systems to ensure daily service runs smoothly
- Take ownership of operational challenges, resolving them quickly and proactively.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate ordering with BOH and suppliers
- Monitor daily sales, labour costs, and other key performance indicators
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives
Team Leadership
- Lead, schedule, and support FOH staff
- Hire, train, and run pre-shift meetings
- Conduct performance reviews and support staff development
- Address team conflicts and support a healthy workplace culture
- Uphold service standards and company policies
Guest Experience & Events
- Deliver top-tier service and handle guest concerns
- Manage large party, private event, and catering inquiries
- Create event sheets, floor plans, and coordinate execution
- Collaborate with ownership on marketing, promotions, and menu updates
Cash & Compliance
- Oversee cash-outs and refunds
- Ensure health, safety, and alcohol service standards
- Complete shift reports and handovers
Communication
- Keep clear, timely communication with ownership and team
- Ensure accurate and consistent menu/system info
- Maintain cleanliness, equipment, and organization
- Manage and update Toast, 7shifts, and Deliverect (POS, scheduling, and delivery platforms)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or food industry, preferably in restaurant management or hotel settings.
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
