OPERATIONS MANAGER

Responsibilities

Operations and Systems

  • Upkeep and establish systems to ensure daily service runs smoothly
  • Take ownership of operational challenges, resolving them quickly and proactively.
  • Oversee inventory levels and coordinate ordering with BOH and suppliers
  • Monitor daily sales, labour costs, and other key performance indicators
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives

Team Leadership

  • Lead, schedule, and support FOH staff
  • Hire, train, and run pre-shift meetings
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development
  • Address team conflicts and support a healthy workplace culture
  • Uphold service standards and company policies

Guest Experience & Events

  • Deliver top-tier service and handle guest concerns
  • Manage large party, private event, and catering inquiries
  • Create event sheets, floor plans, and coordinate execution
  • Collaborate with ownership on marketing, promotions, and menu updates

Cash & Compliance

  • Oversee cash-outs and refunds
  • Ensure health, safety, and alcohol service standards
  • Complete shift reports and handovers

Communication

  • Keep clear, timely communication with ownership and team
  • Ensure accurate and consistent menu/system info
  • Maintain cleanliness, equipment, and organization
  • Manage and update Toast, 7shifts, and Deliverect (POS, scheduling, and delivery platforms)

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or food industry, preferably in restaurant management or hotel settings.
  • Positive attitude and strong customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
