About us
Our busy ophthalmology practice is looking for a qualified Ophthalmic Technician to join our team! With over 50 years of service in the Arlington Heights community, Northwest Eye Physicians is comprised of doctors and employees alike who strive to provide excellent patient care. Our office is one of only two in the state with an on-site surgical suite! The ideal candidate has Ophthalmic Technician experience, and the ability to help out with workups as needed.
The job responsibilities for this position include:
· Completing patient workups prior to seeing the doctor as needed
· Collecting patient medication and allergy information
· Refractions
· Assisting in special testing including: Visual Fields, OCTs, Retinal Imaging
· Following up on medication refill requests
· Communicating with Surgical Schedulers and Front Desk Coordinators to ensure that clinic is running smoothly
· Returning patient phone calls in a timely manner
· Assisting doctor in performing cataract surgeries and other minor procedures in our office based surgery suite
The ideal candidate will have:
· 1-3 years of Ophthalmic Technician/Ophthalmic Assistant experience
· Experience with Ophthalmic Testing is a plus
· 1-3 years of experience using EHR system
· Great attendance
· Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
