Silver Specs Eye Care + Optical in Coaldale is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and responsible person to join our team in our growing practice. The job will include interacting with patients as they book their appointments, check in and out of their appointments, and using various equipment for testing. Other administrative duties include data entry, insurance claims and other various office tasks throughout the day.

There is also a retail component to the job including helping patients choose frames from various brands, and budgets, to complement the latest fashions.

The ideal candidate has good communication and inter-personal skills, works well in a team setting, is able to multi-task and problem solve, is detail-orientated, and is able to adapt to a quick changing environment. Basic computer skills is necessary. Experience in RevolutionEHR software is an asset.

The job is permanent full time Monday through Friday: 9 am through 5:30 pm.

Experience in reception and billing insurance companies an asset but we are willing to train the ideal candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, verify insurance, and manage appointment scheduling
• Operate diagnostic equipment (e.g., autorefractor, OCT, visual field analyzer, autolensometer)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and optical displays
• Handle administrative tasks including data entry, billing, patient follow-up, and patient recalls.
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient satisfaction
• Assist with frame selection and educate patients on lens options

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an optometry or healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with technology and patient management software
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Professional demeanor and a team-oriented attitude
