Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Optometric Assistant to join our eye care team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, support the optometrists, and ensure smooth clinic operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, optical services, and patient interaction within a fast-paced medical environment. Prior experience in medical offices or optical settings is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. **YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS**

Duties

• Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a welcoming environment
• Assist patients with their initial paperwork and update electronic medical records accurately
• Conduct pre-test procedures
• Manage front desk responsibilities including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information
• Educate patients on optical products and assist with retail sales of glasses, contact lenses, and accessories
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and optical displays
• Support pediatric patients by providing gentle care and age-appropriate communication

Skills

• Prior experience in a medical office setting or optical practice is highly desirable
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye care
• Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication abilities
• Ability to handle front desk duties efficiently, including scheduling and insurance verification
• Experience in retail sales or sales techniques to promote optical products effectively
• Knowledge of optical products and services is a plus
• Ability to work well with pediatric patients and adapt communication accordingly
• Organized, detail-oriented, with strong multitasking skills to manage various responsibilities seamlessly

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
