Ennis Montessori School is a long established full time early years setting in Ennis, Co. Clare.

We are currently have an opening for a part-time Cook to join our team. This position will require approximately 25 hours per week Monday to Friday, 12.00pm-5.00pm.

Job Description: Cook

Role: To plan menus and provide healthy, nutritious meals for children aged 2-12 years attending the crèche, while adhering to HACCP guidelines.

Reports to: The Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Keep kitchen equipment, tools, and practices sanitary; be responsible for cleaning the kitchen. You would follow strict hygiene, health and safety rules and maintain records for same. You must be impeccably clean all the time.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines at ALL times.
• Plan nutritious menus on a regular basis and prepare healthy meals for children in partnership with management.
• Maintain proper temperature control when handling all meat, fish, and vegetables and maintain records for same.
• You must maintain appropriate records with regards to food deliveries and preparation, e.g. temperature records.
• You are responsible for kitchen organization and storage; rotate stock; make grocery shopping lists weekly.
• Demonstrate dedication, flexibility, use of initiative and excellent time keeping skills as well as exceptional rapport with children and colleagues and have an organised approach.
• Ensuring the individual needs of children are identified and met.
• Adhering to créche policies, procedures and operational practices at all times.
• Perform other reasonable and relevant and reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
