Position Overview
The Parts Advisor will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Dublin Parts Department and Distribution warehouse. This individual will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and supplying automotive parts to internal departments and external customers efficiently and accurately. The role requires excellent product knowledge, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers and internal service teams with parts identification and supply.
- Process parts orders, inquiries, and quotations promptly via phone, email, and in person.
- Check stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure accurate record-keeping using the company’s parts management system.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to order and track parts.
- Support the Parts Manager in maintaining stock control, returns, and replenishment processes.
- Provide technical advice and product information to customers.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts counter and storage area.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a parts advisor or similar role (automotive or commercial vehicle industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle components and aftermarket parts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with parts management or dealer management systems (e.g., Kerridge, CDK, or similar).
- Good computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience with commercial vehicle parts (trucks, buses, light commercial vehicles).
- Forklift license
- Formal qualification in automotive technology or a related field.
- Full, clean driving licence.
