Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Parts Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in inventory management and heavy duty and/or automotive repair, with the ability to effectively manage parts logistics. This role is crucial for ensuring that all parts are available for repairs and maintenance, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. We are a mobile road service, as such, the Parts Specialist will be asked to transport parts need to job sites should the need arise.
Duties
- Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Utilize systems such as Fullbay for tracking inventory and processing orders.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms for parts procurement.
- Collaborate with service technicians to understand parts requirements for repair services.
- Assist in demand planning to forecast future parts needs based on repair schedules and customer demand.
- Maintain organized records of parts transactions, including purchases, returns, and stock levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to parts availability and specifications.
- Transport parts to onsite mobile technicians as well as pick up parts from vendors when delivery is unavailable.
Qualifications
- A valid drivers license.
- Proven experience in inventory management within an automotive or heavy duty setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with vehicle repair processes and terminology is essential.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, particularly Fullbay or similar inventory management software.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish effective supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of logistics processes related to parts distribution is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
