Parts Technician

Job Overview
The Parts Technician plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our service department by managing the inventory and supply of parts. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and customer service skills to ensure that all parts are sourced, stocked, and delivered in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in demand planning, supply chain management, and mechanical knowledge, along with the ability to negotiate with suppliers and provide exceptional customer service.

Duties

  • Manage inventory levels and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Source and procure parts from various suppliers, negotiating terms and prices as necessary.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track parts usage and availability.
  • Collaborate with the service department to understand parts requirements for repairs and maintenance.
  • Fabricate or modify parts as needed to meet specific customer or operational needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in identifying the correct parts for their needs.
  • Maintain organized records of all transactions, orders, and supplier communications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices in supply chain management.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of demand planning and supply chain processes.
  • Proficient in CMMS and other inventory management systems.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms from suppliers.
  • Mechanical knowledge to assist in identifying appropriate parts for various applications.
  • Experience working in a dealership environment is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to fabricate components when necessary, demonstrating problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.70-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
