Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in baking and pastry techniques, with a keen eye for detail and creativity in cake decorating. This role requires a commitment to food safety and quality, ensuring that all pastries and desserts are prepared to the highest standards. The Pastry Cook will work closely with the kitchen staff to create delightful treats that enhance our menu offerings and satisfy our customers' cravings.

Duties

  • Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, utilizing various techniques to create visually appealing presentations.
  • Package baked goods for display or sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service during peak hours.
  • Maintain inventory of baking supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items that align with seasonal trends and customer preferences.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance and organization.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or bakery setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices, including proper food handling techniques.
  • Proficiency in baking methods, cake decorating, and pastry preparation is essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
  • A passion for culinary arts and an eagerness to learn new skills in the kitchen is highly valued.

Pay: $17.38-$24.53 per hour
