Blackbird Baking Company is looking for full time pastry cooks to join our ever growing pastry team producing high quality pastries.
This position will work out of our Kensington Market location (172 Baldwin Street).
Our team members work four 10-hour shifts per week with 3 consecutive days off. These days off are not guaranteed to be on a weekend.
Daily responsibilities include of the Pastry Cook include:
- Baking pastries
- Scaling recipes
- Laminating dough, making croissant based products Mixing and portioning batters, doughs, tarts, cookies, crackers, scones etc
- Maintaining the general cleanliness of the bakery
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is a self motivator and possesses excellent time management skills
- Has some knowledge of the baking process
- Can lift up to 20kg
- Has flexible availability including weekends
- Available and accustomed to an early morning (3:00AM) start time
- Is extremely punctual
- Possesses a Food Handlers Certificate (an advantage but not absolutely necessary)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
