Duties and Responsibilities

We have an outstanding billing team, which has a stellar track record while providing great customer service to patients.

• The Patient Account Specialist researches and works patient credits, to include submitting refunds to the Finance team
• This position reviews and processes No Show Fees
• This position also monitors and posts patient payment plans and declined credit cards
• The Patient Account Specialist posts incoming patient payments to accounts
• This position also processes unapplied patient payments
• This position reviews outstanding accounts and processes dismissals due to delinquency
• The Patient Accounts Specialist will monitor and respond to incoming patient portal messages
• This position is also a back up to the Insurance Payment Posters
• The Patient Account Specialist partakes in Team Workshops to assist on project assignments
• This position provides support to internal and external customers via phone calls, billing help desk, and billing team email

• A position within a healthcare billing team is a must

• Patient billing or collections is preferred

• Full revenue cycle billing experience is a plus

• Payment posting experience is preferred

• Successful candidates for this job will have strong analytical skills

• Precision, attention to detail, and organization are all critical for the job

• Successful in time management

• Minimum typing speed is 50 wpm

• Proven track record of working well on teams and delivering excellence

• Excellent verbal and written skills required. Customer service experience a plus

Reviews

Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first check in with HR will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire. Written annual reviews take place each fall. For individuals with <6 months of tenure by fall review but >6 months tenure at spring review, then the initial review will take place in the spring review. You will receive training for your role, and you will be expected to take Vanguard courses and/or quizzes to remain employed and progress.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 40-hour, position with business hours Monday to Friday. This position is based out of our Headquarters office in Colorado Springs and offers 1 remote day per week, post training completion.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is $20.00-$22.00 an hour (based on experience) with eligibility for overtime and paid time off. The practice covers a portion of the premium for medical benefits and offers vision, dental, and 401K. Physical Working Conditions

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90%

• The other 10%, occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office printer, etc.

• Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, printer, copier, scanner, or fax

• Be able to communicate accurately, effectively, and frequently

• Can identify color on the computer and software used
