A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient support in healthcare settings, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and feeding, while also monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to licensed nursing staff. Key responsibilities include ensuring patient comfort and safety, maintaining a clean environment, and providing emotional support to patients in hospitals, long-term care facilities, or homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assisting patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Mobility & Transfers: Helping patients with standing, walking, and transferring to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Feeding: Assisting patients with meals, ensuring special dietary needs are met.
- Health Monitoring: Measuring and recording vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Reporting & Documentation: Reporting any changes in patient condition or unusual situations to the nursing staff.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintaining cleanliness and order in patient rooms and work areas.
- Companionship: Providing emotional support, conversation, and companionship to patients.
- Safety: Ensuring patient safety and preventing falls or injuries.
- Specimen Collection: Assisting with collecting lab specimens like urine and stool.
- Transport: Escorting patients to and from different areas within the facility or to appointments.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
