PURPOSE:

The Patient Coordinator’s (PC) primary responsibility is to contribute to the success of the practice by ensuring that patients are the number one priority from the time they enter the practice until the time they leave. You will contribute to the practice’s success by creating and maintaining positive relationships with patients and providing our patients with the best experience possible and assisting in navigating their dental journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate patient scheduling and flow throughout the day by scheduling appointments, calling patients to confirm appointment times, checking in patients, and making sure patients have all the information required for their appointment in their file.
  • Greet patients and answer phones “with a smile”; communicate with patients in a courteous manner and help them according to their needs.
  • Enter all patient (new and existing) information into the computer software system accurately, ensuring that we have the most updated information on file for each patient, including personal information and marketing referral sources.
  • Prepare daily reports and maintain accurate data.
  • Present treatment plan as needed.
  • Contact insurance companies to verify coverage and fee schedule and complete insurance breakdown accurately and completely.
  • Respond to all voicemails at the beginning of every day and after lunch and make any changes necessary.
  • Prepare and participate in daily huddles to ensure that each day flows smoothly.
  • Open and close practice for business according to company procedures.
  • Ensure that reception, front desk, office, bathroom, and waiting room areas are clean and organized.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Follow required OSHA safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years experience working in a professional environment with direct customer contact desired.
  • Experience with Dentrix preferred.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
