Payroll Senior Specialist

The purpose of this role is to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of payroll services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and maximising value for the organisation. This role involves overseeing the administration of monthly payroll, processing payroll transactions accurately and efficiently, and supporting financial analysis and reconciliations to enhance decision-making and regulatory compliance. The role also focuses on delivering an efficient and accurate payroll service, processing employee payroll, leave entitlements, tax, deductions, and ensuring timely payments with high-quality information.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including General Ledger (GL) accounting processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to research and resolve GL variances and ensure monthly balances are reconciled.
  • Provide support in tax agency audits, short-term business traveller administration, and inter-departmental reporting requests.
  • Assist in day-to-day payroll operations, acting as a Team Leader and supporting the Payroll Manager.
  • Assist with tax, year-end processes, and daily error report analysis.
  • Assist in implementing integration changes, mergers, acquisitions, and special projects.
  • Partner with payroll vendors to process payroll accurately and ensure data meets legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide quality customer service by researching and resolving employee inquiries.
  • Ensure data integrity by analysing reports, identifying discrepancies, and communicating with stakeholders.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
  • Some relevant work experience.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
  • Payroll processing in a multi-state environment with all local taxes.
  • Experience with SAP (ADP Globalview) Payroll, Workday or other enterprise payroll systems.
  • Work experience in payroll and admin functions.
  • Track record of delivering to strict deadlines and SLA's.
  • Experience of managing and working closely with third party suppliers.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 lbs.
