Phlebotomist – Job Description
A Phlebotomist is a healthcare professional responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing, transfusions, research, or blood donations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw blood from patients using proper venipuncture techniques.
- Verify patient identity and label samples accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow infection control procedures.
- Prepare and store blood samples for laboratory testing.
- Calm and assist patients who may be anxious or afraid of needles.
- Maintain records of collected samples.
- Dispose of medical waste safely according to safety guidelines.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of blood collection procedures.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety standards.
Qualification:
- Diploma or certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
- Basic clinical or hospital experience is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
