About the role

Mater Health are looking for a Senior lymphedema and cancer Physiotherapist to join the team in a fixed-term part-time capacity. This position is 16 hours per week, until 31st January 2027 and will be based at our south Brisbane campus. This position primarily manages outpatients who are experiencing post-surgical and cancer complications.

Salary range: $68.24 - $73.43 (HP4) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

The Physiotherapy department at Mater Health, South Brisbane provides a broad range of public and private acute health services with adults, women’s health, neonatology, children and adolescent services. As a member of the Physiotherapy team, you will deliver high level Physiotherapy services to lymphoedema and oncology patients across the continuum of care at Mater Health Services. This role provides clinical leadership in sub-specialties of lymphoedema and cancer care and initiates and supports service delivery improvements, clinical education, and effective team communication.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Physiotherapy degree from a recognised tertiary institution
  • AHPRA registration (with no restrictions)
  • Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
  • To be, and remain vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during employment with Mater Health: Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox), Pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis
  • Demonstrated high level clinical practice and independent clinical judgement in delivery of outpatient lymphoedema and cancer care clinical services including group classes and in-patient clinical services to the Mater Cancer Care Centre
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and skills in Lymphoedema and shoulder dysfunction assessment and management and a commitment to further progressing skills in this area
  • Demonstrated experience in the education and clinical practice supervision of physiotherapy assistants and junior physiotherapy staff
  • Support the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a range of mandatory and elevated learning and education activities and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, contribute to decision making and address conflict within profession and multidisciplinary teams, patients, carers and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and evaluate quality and service improvement activities that improve clinical education, clinical services and patient outcomes
