The Planner/Scheduler will effectively collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to optimise project timelines and resource allocation while minimising risks and delays.

Key Activities

  • Develop clear and accurate tender-stage construction schedules and narrative submissions, supporting the estimating team under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of programme requirements under Public Works and RIAI contract frameworks
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using industry‑standard tools (MS Project; Primavera P6; Asta Powerproject an advantage). Break down project scope into clear, manageable work packages and activities, ensuring schedules are fully aligned with project objectives and deliverables.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impacts on project delivery. Analyse the effects of scope changes, delays, and unforeseen issues on overall project timelines and budgets.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver detailed reports such as Gantt charts, S-curves, and project dashboards for stakeholders. Clearly communicate key schedule metrics, updates, and forecasts to project teams and clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support the integration and adoption of best practices in project planning and scheduling. Participate in lessons learned sessions to provide feedback and improve processes for future projects.

Competencies

  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project & Asta power project).

  • Ability to assess complex data and identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in schedules and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Proactive approach to resolving scheduling conflicts and project delays.
  • Adaptability to work in fast-paced, dynamic construction environments.
