We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Lead to join our Technology team. You would be joining a team that enables delivery of value to our customers and colleagues by providing an enterprise capability for planning and dependency management. This is an opportunity to use your analytical experience to identify opportunities for change and make a real difference in a large organisation.

This is an Auckland based role and is a hybrid role with three days in the office per week.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We sat down with our Planning Manager, and they let us know the following about the tūranga (role).

What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?

You will be primarily focussed on supporting Technology to effectively plan delivery of work. Throughout the quarter this could entail organising and running the quarterly planning sessions, facilitating meetings to resolve sequencing contentions or analysing planning and delivery data to create insights and reports.

In addition, you will be involved in the implementing of transformational change to ensure that we are able to deliver efficiently for our customers and colleagues. This will involve collaborating to create new processes and rolling out the changes to over 1000 people within Technology and Business Delivery.

What is the tīma culture and environment like?

We are a small, friendly, high performing tīma that are always willing to support each other and have a laugh whilst working hard.

We work in a hybrid environment collaborating both in person and online

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

You will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of the changes within BNZ to move towards enterprise agility within planning and delivery. This tūranga will be fast-paced and will provide you with the ability to see tangible changes to the organisation as part of what we do.

What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?

Being part of an enterprise agility transformation, you will be comfortable with the fast pace of change and ambiguity. You will also need to be comfortable being the face of change which may be challenging for our colleagues.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this tūranga?

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of people within different areas of BNZ and taking them on the journey. You can work autonomously and can engage tīma members with ideas and be able to influence and quickly build relationships.

You will have a data-orientated mindset and be comfortable understanding and interpreting data to help identify areas for improvement.

You will need to have confidence in taking the lead as we are defining the processes for the whole bank and will be comfortable with changes of direction when working at the cutting edge of our transformation.

What specific tech skills are required to be successful?

Expertise in using Planning tools such as Jira.
Confidence in understanding data and metrics and the ability to analyse data to gain insights essential.
Skills in data analysis and reporting, such as Excel and Power BI advantageous
