DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate combines strong program management skills with a passion for innovation and an interest in risk and compliance. They should demonstrate the ability to manage projects effectively, work collaboratively across teams, and show potential for strategic thinking.
Key job responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end service delivery of key initiatives (e.g., People Strategy, Leadership Planning, QBR inputs, and P0 metrics), owning specific workstreams within these to completion to a high bar (on time/ to the right quality/ pitched to the needs of the audience)
- Collaborate with internal teams, technical experts, and business leaders to implement and optimize processes
- Assist in funding and roadmap prioritization for RCS initiatives
- Contribute to longer-term plans and vision development for the RCS Leadership Team
- Support the translation of complex, high-level ideas into executable plans
A day in the life
As a Planning Manager, you'll support the execution of key initiatives pivotal to our org's functioning, working closely with the RCS Leadership Team to implement strategic plans and drive operational improvements.
About the team
The Strategic Planning team helps the Risk & Compliance Solutions (RCS) organization work better and smarter. Think of us as the team that:
1. Serves as trusted advisors to the RCS Leadership team, providing critical insights and analysis to facilitate informed decision-making.
2. We orchestrate and manage the planning processes for initiatives that have significant visibility and wide-ranging impact across the organization.
We're a small team, but what we do matters a lot. We take big ideas and turn them into real plans that help the whole organization succeed. Whether it's planning for next quarter or thinking about next year, we're here to make things run smoothly.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 2-3 years experience in risk / compliance teams
- Familiarity with Amazon's planning processes (e.g., OP1, 3YV, budget planning)
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Exceptional ability to communicate in written and verbal English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in program or project management
- Basic understanding of data analysis and business intelligence concepts
- Familiarity with risk and compliance frameworks
- Experience with Generative AI technologies and their business applications
