Job Summary:

The Press Shop Operator is responsible for operating mechanical or hydraulic press machines to manufacture sheet metal stamped components. The role includes die setup assistance, machine operation, basic quality inspection, and maintaining safety and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Operation:

• Operate press machines (mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic) for stamping operations.
• Feed raw material (sheet metal/coils/blanks) into the machine correctly.
• Remove stamped parts and perform basic visual inspection.

2. Die and Tool Handling:

• Assist in loading and unloading dies during changeovers (with tool room team or die setters).
• Ensure proper alignment and clamping of tools as per work instructions.
• Report any tool/die damage or abnormalities immediately.

3. Quality Control:

• Perform visual and basic dimensional checks using gauges (Vernier, Micrometer, GO/NO-GO).
• Ensure stamped parts are free from burrs, cracks, deformation, or defects.
• Segregate OK and NG parts as per quality standards.

4. Safety and Housekeeping:

• Follow all safety protocols during machine operation.
• Use PPE (gloves, goggles, earplugs, etc.) at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness around the press machine and work area.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Record production data – quantity produced, rejections, downtime, etc.
• Inform supervisor of breakdowns, safety issues, or quality concerns.
• Follow work instructions, job cards, and process sheets strictly.

Required Skills:

• Basic understanding of stamping operations and press machines.
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments.
• Ability to follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Physical fitness to handle material loading and repetitive operations.
• Basic reading/writing skills in local language or English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
