Job Summary:
- To operate and monitor bakery production machinery to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of high-quality product.
- The role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Health and Safety
- Comply with all safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure your manager is informed of all safety hazards of which you become aware, so remedial action can be taken.
- Wearing and using the correct Personal Protective Equipment and clothing.
- Accepting responsibility for the safety of ourselves, other employees and all other people affected by our service. Ensure that your activities do not put people at risk.
- Attend regular and quality training to stay informed of best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with the law and any procedures, policies designed to ensure a safe place of work including drug and alcohol policies.
Quality
- Adhere to the company’s quality standards by inspecting materials and products at various stages of production.
- Report any quality issues or defects to supervisors and assist in corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to support quality and safety.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor complex bakery machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Ensure consistent product quality by following recipes, specifications, and quality control standards.
- Accurately complete production documentation and report any issues or deviations.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production targets.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety and food hygiene standards.
- Participate in training and development activities to build skills and knowledge.

- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand and operate complex machinery (training provided).
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in following procedures and identifying issues.

- Problem-Solving: Able to identify and escalate issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Physically fit and able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
