The Team

This role is an integral part of the PMO Portfolio Governance team – a multidisciplinary team responsible for:
  • Prioritising and managing an annual strategic programme portfolio
  • Ensuring consistent delivery methodologies, standards, and governance
  • Managing portfolio level risks, dependencies, and performance
  • Supporting in the development of executive-level reporting on programme status, outcomes, and benefits

The Opportunity

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Programme Resourcing & Workforce Scheduler to join our PMO Portfolio Governance team. As the Programme Resourcing & Workforce Scheduler, you will support the PMO Portfolio Governance Team Lead who is responsible for driving long term transformation planning for EirGrid’s strategic programmes through best-in-class programme management, governance, and business alignment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain integrated resource schedules across the delivery portfolio, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and capacity constraints
  • Collate and interrogate resourcing forecast data provided by Project Managers
  • Coordinate allocation and utilisation of resources based on skills, availability, and priorities
  • Monitor and report on resource usage, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities for optimisation
  • Support programme delivery by providing accurate resource data and insights for resource planning and decision-making
  • Lead all resource and workforce planning reviews and reporting activities of the PMO for the entire delivery portfolio
  • Design, document and implement resource and scheduling standards and processes
  • Support delivery teams with resourcing and scheduling planning
  • Maintain an integrated plan of all programmes and projects within the portfolio identifying and managing dependencies
  • Provide support to delivery teams in developing project schedules
  • Assist delivery teams in carrying out in-depth review of schedules and resources and/or critical path. Analysing project schedules with key stakeholders
  • Develop resource and scheduling reports for governance forums identifying risks, issues and dependencies

About You
  • Relevant qualification supported by 5+ years of experience within a similar role
  • Experience as resource and workforce planner and scheduler in complex technology and transformation programmes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and transparently with others across the business and externally to deliver outcomes in accordance with strategic objectives.
  • Ability to manage complex information requirements from the Delivery Teams to allow effective management of strategic programmes
  • Support Project Managers and Project teams by ensuring focus on delivery of a portfolio of projects on time, within budget, and meeting their business objectives.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members and to collaborate with a diverse range of people;
  • Ability to identify potential risks, gaps, issues and process improvements and deliver the changes required;

Desirable
  • Knowledge of resourcing and project management tools, methods and best practices
  • A recognised project management qualification would be beneficial e.g. PRINCE2, PMP;
  • Knowledge of energy sector would be an advantage but not a requirement
