The Position
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring efficient delivery that meets customer specifications. With strong organizational skills and a strategic mindset, the Project Manager will facilitate seamless communication between customers, account managers, and operations teams. The role involves guiding and supporting both the account management and operations departments to ensure projects are executed smoothly and to the highest standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Working together with sales team to manage key client accounts and their tradeshows/event projects, in terms ofclient communication, estimating, and project management to ensure optimal project organization and customerservice
- Oversee project from start to finish, preparing regular project updates, working directly with estimating, sales andoperations team ensuring all project requirements are met
- Manage project timelines and progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement solutions to deadlines are metand project requirements fulfilled
- Purchasing display materials and services as required for project; sourcing the best price, tracking delivery, andensuring all costs are captured on job, and communicating order updates to internal team and client
- Ensure smooth logistics, including transportation, installation, and coordination of third-party services
- Close projects once complete and review project details to ensure all the costs are captured and prepare project forfinal invoicing
- Lead post-project reviews to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement lessons learnedfor future success
- Manage multiple clients, projects and tasks simultaneously, and ensuring that all meet profitability goals and exceedclient expectations
- Maintain organized project records and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ad hoc projects as required
Job Requirements
- Attention to details in all areas of work
- Exceptional organizational skills, with good judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to listen actively and ask questions to clarify a project's goals, requirements, and deadlines
- Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole
- Project based work requiring occasional work on-site and outside of regular work hours (weekends / afterhours)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the event / tradeshow industry required
- Project management experience required
- Understanding of the fabrication process and experience in CAD software (AutoCAD / SketchUp) is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
- Honest and forthright person with strong written and oral communication skills
- Work well with deadlines and ability to adapt to changing situations in a calm and professional manner
