Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pain Psychologist to join our health team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive pain psychological services for adults, and geriatrics population. This role involves conducting assessments, performing CBT and biofeedback therapy, developing treatment plans in an outpatient setting. The Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting individuals with various mental health conditions, disabilities, and behavioral health needs through individual counseling modalities. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations are essential to ensure confidential and effective patient care.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and behavioral health screenings to determine patient needs.
- Provide individual therapy utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, and crisis intervention.
- Manage intake procedures and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Offer specialized counseling for populations including addiction counseling.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s condition.
- Supervise clinical staff as needed, ensuring quality patient care and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Conduct psychological testing and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment strategies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in mental health care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Psychologist in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in pain psychology
- Strong background in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, behavioral health assessments, and diagnostic evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations involving mental health crises with professionalism and empathy.
- Prior experience working in outpatient pain settings is desirable.
