Overview
To provide quality support for production, program launches, PPAP approval, product development, drive continuous improvement, control of nonconforming materials, and develop processes and documentation consistent with ISO standards. This position reports to the plant quality manager.

Key Responsibilities

Duties may include all or a portion of, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide timely response to machine/production stoppages, lead containment and corrective action activities for fabrication and welding areas.
  • Ensure the quality of the parts being delivered to the line/area/service parts and implement Poka Yoke to eliminate human errors.
  • Maintain tool and gauge certifications.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement Kaizens for prioritized quality issues.
  • Project management for midrange quality improvement projects.
  • Implement statistical process control processes where applicable.
  • Development of control plans for production.
  • Assist in reducing unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and ergonomic conditions.
  • Lead receiving inspection, yard audits, and product holds when applicable.
  • Promote and encourage cross-training within the area of responsibility, as well as completing gap closures in training matrix.
  • Maintain area specific information boards as required- PPAP, Tooling Certs, Fixture, Product development requests.
  • Keep the supervisor(s) advised of all situations which could adversely affect the operation.

Experience Required

  • 4-year college degree in technical field or equivalent ASQ Certification such as CQE.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and welding principles
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Knowledge of GD&T / print tolerancing and how it applies in the manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including root cause determination tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Understand visual spatial concepts, 3-D thinking, and solid modeling.
  • Exposure to PFMEAs, control plans, and other quality tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Working knowledge of statistical tools.
  • A strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and how it applies to the manufacturing, assembly, and fit-up of the final product.
  • Knowledge of MS Office required.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $84,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
