As a Registered Nurse (RN) with our organization, you will be a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients and residents. You will play a key role in ensuring the well-being of those under your care by providing comprehensive and compassionate nursing services. Our diverse settings range from psychiatric/behavioral health care hospitals to long-term care facilities, providing you with a unique opportunity to grow and develop your nursing skills.

Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Applicant selected for employment must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies.

Example of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Administer top-quality nursing care to patients and residents, ensuring the highest standards of practice.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct intake assessments, administer first aid and medications, and perform health screenings.
  • Care Planning: Assist in developing and evaluating individualized care plans, tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all patients, documenting changes in their condition and treatments provided.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, supervisors, and other healthcare staff to coordinate and implement effective patient care.
  • Education and Training: May provide guidance and direction to LPNs, CNAs, and other staff members. Participate in the orientation and training of new staff.
  • Administrative Duties: Enter patient information into various electronic systems, ensure adherence to healthcare policies and regulations, and communicate urgent medical needs to relevant personnel.
  • Patient Advocacy: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication and understanding of patient care plans.

Education:

Licensure/Certifications:

Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered nurse.
