About the Role

Are you an experienced registered nurse eager to broaden your expertise in the Plastics and Burns specialty?

This is your opportunity to be part of a senior nursing team where you’ll collaborate within a multidisciplinary group to guide Burns patients through both their acute inpatient and outpatient journeys.

In this role, your excellent communication and negotiation skills will be key as you work alongside a dedicated team to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and their whanau. You’ll also be part of a supportive and dynamic work environment that values continuous learning and professional development.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Managing complex patients following burn injuries
  • Support and facilitation of Multidisciplinary Team meetings
  • Case management, quality and risk assurance, Education

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development and wellness support.

The Surgical Nursing Resource team is a collaborative multidisciplinary team focused on supporting numerous specialties. We provide a supportive environment with a strong focus on professional and service development


About you

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

  • A proficient or expert Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ experience ideally in a burns and plastics speciality
  • Proven history of advanced assessment skills
  • A current practicing certificate
  • Post graduate qualification or working towards
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • Adaptability, flexibility and agility
