About the Role

The Older People's Acute Assessment and Liaison (OPAL) Unit is seeking to employ motivated and enthusiastic registered nurses to join our team.

We offer timely, multi-faceted care in a specialist environment for older people.

OPAL provides holistic care to maintain or improve patient abilities and functional outcomes, reducing in-hospital complications and facilitating timely transfer back to the community.

As a Registered Nurse in the OPAL Unit you will assess patient care requirements then work with patients and their families to formulate a plan of care. You will then implement this plan while providing 24 hour support and evaluating progress, being the first contact for any of your patient's concerns or queries.

Hours of work will be 64 per fortnight (0.8FTE), working rotating shifts.

About you


We welcome applications from registered nurses who meet the following essential criteria:


  • At least twelve months experience as a registered nurse in an acute area of a NZ secondary or tertiary hospital,

or


  • Would consider six months recent experience in a MidCentral acute setting
