Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice provides compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients in their homes or hospice facilities. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that focus on comfort and quality of life for patients and their families.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assess and monitor the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of hospice patients.

2. Administer medication and provide skilled nursing care.

3. Educate patients and families about the disease process and end-of-life care options.

4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.

5. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.

6. Advocate for patients' wishes and preferences regarding their care.

7. Document patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

8. Participate in on-call duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.

2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care.

3. BLS certification.

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

6. Compassionate and empathetic nature.

7. Knowledge of end-of-life care principles and practices.

8. Ability to manage complex and emotionally charged situations.
